HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 6

Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to make a study of small stream flooding in the State of West Virginia.
Whereas, Small stream flooding has become a large problem for
many communities in the State of West Virginia; and
Whereas, Small stream flooding has caused problems in many new
housing developments bringing into question the planning that
accompanied the development; and
Whereas, Some residents of the state have historically been
victims of small stream flooding on a continuous basis; therefore,
be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is hereby
requested to review, examine and study the problems of small
stream flooding and develop possible solutions to this statewide
problem; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and
Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 1998,
on its findings, conclusions and recommendations, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its
recommendation; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct this
study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary legislation to be
paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on
Government and Finance.
